My arrival on the art scene was very late, having spent much of my working life as an Air Traffic Controller in South Africa and thereafter a few creative years as a florist. I have no formal art education, but have always had a tremendous creative drive. I have had some highly successful group and solo exhibitions - in various countries.
My inspiration in painting comes from many years spent in the bright sunny and colourful landscapes and under the wide open skies of Africa, Italy and Greece. I love colour and texture and greatly admire the Impressionists.
As well as painting and pewter work, I also make jewellery and I am famous for my chunky sculptural silver bangles! My jewels can be seen on www.houseofmani.com
I was co-owner and manager of The Headcorn Art Gallery in 2003/04.
I am a member of the Pilgrims Way Art Group, South East Open Studios, Ashford Visual Artists and Art Sout East. In the past I was Secretary and Sub-editor of South East Open Studios.
My studio in Headcorn, Kent, is open by appointment.
